Rockford, MI {downtown, on the Rogue River}

Park by the Garden Club Park — Peppler Park is just across the dam from it.
— Rockford Dam, in Rockford, MI, is located on the Rogue River. Favorite photo-features for me are the banks of Garden Club Park, the bridge over the dam and the dam itself, winding fencing and paths, a gazebo, flowers and landscaping, a little stone-lined brook on a hill, paths — plus a nearby metal bridge and quaint business-lined street.

Downtown Grand Rapids -- Blue Bridge and surrounding riverfront area {Grand River}

Grand Rapids, MI {downtown, on the Grand River}

— Blue Bridge, in downtown Grand Rapids, MI, is located on the Grand River. The surrounding area along the waterfront also offers several nice options within an easy walking distance. If your aim is an urban feel, this is a great and popular choice! Possible settings include the Blue Bridge(!), paved sidewalk, the Grand River, the Grand Rapids skyline, and waterfront landscaping.

Grand Haven Lighthouse

Park by the lighthouse in the Grand Haven State Park. You will need to pay to enter. Park in the Grand Haven State Park Parking Lot, at the base of the lighthouse.
— Grand Haven Lighthouse offers a gorgeous beach setting for your photographic session. Favorite features of this venue include, well… Lake Michigan (!), sandy beach, a small ‘sand-dune’-type area, boulders, a boardwalk path — and of course the pier and lighthouse.

Grand Rapids Home for Veterans' PARK {just north of the Vet's building}

3000 Monroe Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI

— Grand Rapids Home for Veterans’ PARK is nestled just north of the Vet’s home/building {on the same property} — across the street from Riverside Park in northeast Grand Rapids. This charming little park features a gazebo, creek, winding paved path, and stone-detailed bridge.

Riverside Park {Comstock}

— Riverside Park is situated along the Grand River in northeast Grand Rapids. Favorite photo-settings of mine are a wonderful, knotty willow tree, numerous tree clusters, grassy areas, pond or riverside locations, a medal bridge, brick building (wall shots), playground, dock, paved path, benches, picnic tables and more.

Hitching Post Events

— Hitching Post Events offers a charming, rustic-with-polish setting with abundant personality and charm. The barn offers options such as catering, a DJ, lighting, a photo-booth, a wagon-ride to a park for photos.

Grand Rapids, MI {downtown, on the Grand River}

Park by the Canal Park — 6th Street Bridge is to the south of this area — we generally walk along the riverfront and end around the bridge. Optional addition: the Fish Ladder area.
 Sixth Street Bridge is located on the Grand River. Near the bridge are many photographic-setting options including medal fencing and sidewalks (sometimes winding), a brick building, waterfront landscaping, cement steps, medal benches and tables, and a gazebo near the bridge.

Urban| Grunge {downtown Grand Rapids}

{Specific location may vary depending on current graffiti and other options are available}

We have a few urban/grunge options that we have used in the past, and we are willing to scout for some additional options with a bit of fore-warning. Below are some samples of various Grand Rapids location images that I have done in the past. If you like a specific location, please notate the # in the image label, or describe it to me.

If you have a location in mind in the Grand Rapids area, let us know! We love getting creative!

Donald Lamoreaux Park {Grand Rapids}

TAP| view map
801 Bailey Park Dr NE, Grand Rapids, MI

— A Walk in the Woods | Donald Lamoreaux Park
— Donald Lamoreaux Park is located off of Coit Ave. along the Grand River in northeast Grand Rapids. This location has more of a private, secluded feel. Paths wind through the woods past streams, a meadow amongst the woods with occasional deer and wildflowers,  a dock on the Grand River, and a stone bridge.

{ But… come prepared for mosquitos if in season! }
